With the launch of Eidos Glass, at the beginning of 2013, Lorin Silverman has introduced a meticulously designed and handcrafted product line of high quality, contemporary custom lighting, home décor and sculpted Objets. Standing for high-quality, one-of-a-kind production, Eidos (Greek for shape, form, image, concept) Glass is the beneficiary of long-term concentration on Venetian technique, purposeful experimentation and successful collaboration.

Lorin’s goal for Eidos Glass is to design and fabricate beautiful glass objects based on a dedication to skill and precision in craft, and to form and function in design. His craft is rooted in the Venetian glass tradition and inspired by Scandinavian and Modern design aesthetics. He continues to refine his craft and is intent on pushing the limits of design in hand-blown glass. Lorin is dedicated to raising commercial forms to the level of artistry and beauty, and takes inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci – Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art.

Over the last 15+ years, Lorin Silverman has developed an exceptional reputation as an independent glass artist and designer. Gaining recognition for his craftsmanship, technical ability and the planning and execution of large and complex hand-blown objects, Lorin has been sought after to fabricate work for other artists, architects and designers. For Lorin, working with glass has to begin with an understanding of the material, heat, and gravity and how they are all intricately interconnected when making a beautiful object.
