Butterfly Asteroid Illuminated Sculpture

Description
An illuminated sculpture made of fiberglass based on the shape of an asteroid. The butterfly wings are made of quarter sawn steamed beechwood veneer and laser engraved. The bodies of the butterflies are solid bronze 3D scans of butterfly species, Limentis Arthemis. A traditional wax technique holds the butterflies to the asteroid.
