Claudio Salocchi was an Italian industrial designer who was born in Milan in 1934 and passed away in 2020. He is known for his innovative designs in the field of furniture and lighting. Salocchi studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and started his career as a designer in the 1960s.
 
Throughout his career, Salocchi collaborated with several Italian furniture and lighting companies, including Artemide, Stilnovo, Arteluce, and FontanaArte. He is credited with designing several iconic products, such as the "Nesso" table lamp, which won the first prize at the Studio Artemide-Domus design competition in 1965.
 
Salocchi's designs are characterized by their functionalism, simplicity, and attention to detail. His work has been featured in several exhibitions, including the Triennale di Milano and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
